In the life changing website category I nominate anything that gets us closer to the dream of never having to talk to another stranger on the phone: delivery.com for ordering food and zocdoc.com for doctors appointments (disclaimer: zocdoc happens to be my boyfriend's company but since he's the only one that reads my blog I figure I'm safe in making a biased opinion. And I was using it years before we met due to aforementioned phone phobia).
